2022 Trail of Governors Annual Report

We recognize a few special folks that helped make the dream become reality.

The South Dakota Community Foundation adeptly manages the trail’s funds.

Factor360 professionally manages the work on our website and electronic communications. We thank the generous owners
Dennis and Carolynn Ryckman and talented Designer Jon Sailer.

Underwriters Leroy Foster and Dakota Prairie Bank President Steve Hayes ensured we were financially supported,
even when donations fell short of financial obligations.

We received generous support and encouragement from former Governors Farrar, Wollman, Rounds, Daugaard, Miller, and
Janklow, as well as from Governor Kristi Noem and Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden and members of their staff.

Pierre Mayor Steve Harding, Fort Pierre Mayor Gloria Hanson, the cities’ commissioners and staff members, and the

Hughes and Stanley counties’ commissioners have remained steadfastly committed at our side throughout the journey.

Our donors are generous givers from throughout South Dakota and the United States that donated funds to turn the dream into

bronze. These folks demonstrated their love of this state, its unique history and its dedicated leaders.

A special thank you to the foundation’s plaque-naming donors. These folks and organizations, named on each statue’s bronze
plaque, contributed at least one-quarter funding for a statue.

Donations are always welcome for the Trail of Governors Endowment Fund, to help fund maintenance and promotion of
the statues and trail. Many have donated to this fund in memory of – or to honor – someone special, and that acknowledgement
is noted on the Trail of Governors’ website.
